Empowering Local Communities
Promotion of full public participation on developing and implementing educational, environmental, human rights, governance, economic and sanitation programs without discrimination in respect of gender, tribe, race or colour, creed or religious belief, sexual orientation, political affiliation, nationality, disability, or membership of minority group.
Our ToC holds that sustainable projects can only be achieved if projects builds local leadership and if projects are wholly-received by the communities and implementing groups. For the projects to be wholly-received by the communities and effectively implemented, the initiatives need to promote local idea generation and give powers to these leaders lead the implementation of the projects. If they do have the capacity, the project should include capacity building as part of the activities of the project implementation.
